Abstract series exploring elemental forces; traces of latent energy pulse across a landscape that is subdued, but not submissive.
Themes of transition, flux and the sublime are explored using material metaphors across surfaces as paintings evolve through multiple layers.
All is not as it seems, the fields are host to ancient waterways and their traces remain. Their silty flow spans time and sediments yearn to be reunited with the rivers and the seas of the past and their future.
The shapes and geographic ‘shapeshifting’ caused by seasonality, light and the passing of time at the coastlines or Norfolk and the Jurassic Coast.
Inspired by the snow fields at Magog Down in Cambridge, UK on the coldest of days.
